Hitler Defends Pete Carroll...

Okay, if you haven't seen this video by now, it has been re-done about 1,000,000 times for every type situation, and it really never gets old...

Here is the most recent version...pretty funny stuff!!

BEAT the Cougars!!

Hey Trojans, due to the late starting time of this week's game, there will be no viewing party. However, there will be one next week for the California game, which will be a BIG one.

Enjoy your soggy Saturday (GREAT day to stay home and watch games) and we'll see you next week.

Also, we are soclose to reaching our goal to build George Tirebiter's House for the Carolina Veterinary Assistance and Adoption Group's "Garden of Life Animal Sanctuary." Won't you please consider sending your donation made payable to CVAAG and mail it to:

Mayon
1 Boxelder Court
Greensboro, NC 27405

You learn more aboout our organization by visiting our NEW website at:

I have already purchased the plans and I have the materials list out to a friend of mine who works at Home Depot to get me a quote on the costs. Cold weather is around the corner and I would like to get this shelter built soon, so please donate! Thank you!

New Season, Same Result.

As I mentioned in my previous post, the UW game made me very nervous, and my worst fears were realized as the Trojans handed the Huskies a 16-13 win by turning the ball over 3 times and committing drive killing penalties.

Make no mistake though, Washington wanted it more. This has become an annual ritual with Trojan football under Pete Carroll (who is still an swesome coach), struggling in their first road conference game. I don't know if it was due to the Trojans running on fumes after the escape from Columbus the week before, only having to take another long journey a week later up to Seattle, or if the Trojans underestimated a team that gave LSU all it could handle. It makes no difference, the Trojans find themselves having to fight from the losers bracket in the Pac-10 to make it an unprecedented 8 conference championships in a row.

There is still a lot of football left to be played, but road trips to Cal and Oregon and Notre Dame loom ahead, we'll see if the Trojans can regroup for a needed home game against Washington State to try and right the ship.

On the plus side, we had another GREAT turnout at Refs Sports Bar & Grill, and I believe we have come to a consensus that it will be the official sports bar for the Greensboro gang of the Triad Trojan club.

Fight On and BEAT the Huskies!

This game always makes me nervous as Pete Carroll's teams always seem to struggle with their first conference road game of the season.

See you at Refs Sports Bar and Grill.

USC vs. Washington Viewing Party

Hey Trojans, the new REFS Sports Bar is now open in Greensboro, so we'll check that out this Saturday and hopefully make a collective decision on where to make the "official" Triad Trojan Club (Greensboro) location.

Winston-Salem folks, Fox and Hound in the Thruway Shopping Center is your location (unless y'all like someplace better).

Game time is 3:30 PM EST, hope to see you there.

Finally, I am getting VERYCLOSE to having raised enough money to build "George Tirebiter's House" for the Carolina Veterinary Assistance and Adoption Group's "Garden of Life." Check out our NEW website and won't you consider helping me build this sturdy Cardinal and Gold structure for some wonderful dogs to use until they are adopted?

ANY donation is welcome, please send your check made payable to "CVAAG" and put "George's House" in the memo, and mail it to:

Many thanks to the Triad Trojans who have generously donated money to this wonderful cause!

WOW, What A Victory!!!

WOW, what a game! Matt Barkley wrote his own Hollywood script Ohio and drove the Trojans an impressive 85 yards (95 if you consider a penalty pushed the Trojans back to their own 5 yard line) in a little over 6 minutes with the game on the line. Fighting off a previous injury, and with victory-minded Joe McKnight determined to take the team on his legs, Pete Carroll's squad snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in front of 101,000 silent Buckeye fans. The other 5,000 in attendance were of course the boisterous Trojan fans. Definitely a game for the ages.

Of course, after such a BIG victory, comes the annual Pac-10 conference road opener, a.k.a. USC's annual trap game because this is traditionally where the Trojans lose their focus and gag. The Men of Troy will hardly have any time to unpack their bags before making the journey up to the Emerald City an face former Trojan coaches Steve Sarkisian and Nick Holt and their up and coming scrappy Husky team. UW is improving, they gave LSU all it could handle and if there is anyone who knows what USC looks like behind the lines, its Sark and Holt. Its a classic Master vs. Student match-up and the Trojans need to be razor sharp to avoid another letdown.

Game time is 3:30 PM, Greensboro location is TBD.

BEAT the Buckeyes & THANK YOU Dr. Laura!!!

It's game day Trojans! Tonight's viewing party will be at 8:00 PM at Beef O'Bradys which is at 6303 N. Elm Street (just north of Pisgah Church) just after the gas station on the NE corner. I hope to see you there!

Special thanks go out to Dr. Laura S., and her husband Ken and son Cal for their generous donation to help me build "George Tirebiter's House."

I am getting closer to my goal to raise enough money to build this sturdy shelter for some needy animals at the Garden of Life for Pets Animal Sanctuary, which is part of the Carolina Veterinary Assistance and Adoption Group (CVAAG). You can visit our new website at http://www.carolinavetasst.com and learn more about our organization.

Enjoy your Saturday and I hope to see you tonight for the BIG game!

Moving Tribute To Ryan Davidson...

Some of you may know the story of Ryan Davidson, but for those of you who don't, I'll give you the Cliffs Notes version.

Ryan was a vivacious young man from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin who fell in love with USC Football. In the land of beer, brats and Badger football, a lone Cardinal & Gold beam of light shone brightly. While having a Trojan fan located in any state besides California may not seem special, it was who Ryan Davidson was that made his relationship with the University and the football program special.

You see Ryan had brain cancer since he was 6 years old, and his relationship with USC began during his "Make A Wish" gift to attend a Trojan football game. Pete Carroll, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush and the rest of the Trojans on the 2004 National Championship took him under his wing and he instantly became the unofficial mascot for the Trojans. He attended several games over the years, all the while to continue his battle against brain cancer, but never losing faith, and never quiting. A true demonstration of our cry to "Fight On!"

Ryan was also one of the highest fundraisers for the American Cancer Society in Wisconsin, and this year alone, he raised over $25,000 for cancer research.

He was taken away from the Trojan Family on his 16th birthday, and I am sure George Tirebiter is sitting next to him as John McKay, Howard Jones and other glorious Trojans of lore are happily sharing their stories of gridiron glory from days past.

Here is a video of USC's tribute to Ryan before the San Jose State game:

GREAT Start To 2009!

Hey Trojans, what a GREAT start to the 2009 season! Not only did our Trojans easily manhandle an over-matched San Jose State squad (after an erratic 1st quarter), but the first obstacle for USC to play in the BCS Championship game has been hurdled when Oklahoma went down to BYU after their star QB, and 2008 Heisman Trophy winner, Sam Bradford was knocked out in the 2nd quarter on Saturday night. Now, I am not one to wish ill will on anyone, but the Sooners have gotten the benefit of the doubt over the Trojans too many times in the BCS era. Without Bradford, I believe they will struggle until he gets healthy again. We need Bradford back and in top form for the Red River Shootout and hope the Sooners take down Texas, which will lift another obstacle for the Men of Troy.

Of course, USC must take care of every team before them, so they have their work cut out for them...as always.

We had a GREAT turnout at JP Looney's with SIX new Trojans attending their first Triad Trojan viewing party. A big Fight On to Karl B. & Erin B. who brought their two future Trojans along; Wally P., Pam P. and Claire P. whose son/brother is a freshman at USC, having been accepted as one of only SIX students into the prestigious Thornton School of Music, and Tim K. who made his first game as well. We also had some regulars, Bob B., and Todd J. and his girlfriend Kim, and of course, I was there with my wife Sylvia and my son Ethan.

Tim K., myself and Ethan, Bob B., Erin B. and Karl B. and family.

After talking with the gang at JP Looney's, we felt it would be best if we selected one location to be THE place for Trojans to watch the games, so no one would need to ask. That place will be in Greensboro, though the Winston-Salem gang can select a place and I'll be happy to post it for them. We are considering a new sports bar, "Refs" which is scheduled to open soon, and is centrally located in Greensboro. In the meantime, the GSO gang will be watching the Trojan/Buckeye war at Beef O'Brady's on N. Elm Street, just above Pisgah Church.

It's GAME DAY!!!

Months of waiting have come to an end as "the most wonderful time of the year" (for me at least) is here!

The Matt Barkley era begins and this season should be a very exciting and interesting one to say the least. Hope to see y'all at JP Looney's on the NW corner of Hwy 150/Hwy 68.

USC vs. Texas A&M - Possibly in 2015/2016

http://www.aggieathletics.com/genrel/090209aaa.html

It has been a LOOONG time since we played a game down in Tejas. Last game was Keyshawn's Cotton Bowl dismantling of Texas Tech. The last regular season game was against Baylor in which USC avenged a home loss to the Bears the year before with a last second FG in the driving rain.
