Happy Thanksgiving & UCLA Game

Happy Thanksgiving Triad Trojans!

Since the Notre Dame game is on late, and it's Thanksgiving weekend, we'll have our "big game" party for the UCLA game at my house! Space is limited, so RSVP ASAP and let me know how many of your are coming over.

The fare will be pot-luck, so bring some great appetizers and let me know what they are so we don't have "repeats." Sylvia plans on making some chili and a dessert, so take it from there.

Hope to see you for the game! If you have any questions, email me at: GSOTrojan@aol.com, I'll give you our address.

After A Feast At The Farm, A Week To Breathe...

Then on to the home stretch...the Rivals!! Our third and final bye week of the season, time to heal a bit for the final frames....

We need a few breaks for the Trojans to even sniff the BCS Championship game, but crazier things have happened. A good start would be Oklahoma to beat Texas Tech, and of course, Florida to beat Alabama. We'll see how things shake out.

The Rose Bowl's biggest nightmare is Oregon State and Penn State both winning out, which would put them in a rematch in the Rose Bowl, a game the Beavers lost 45-14 earlier in the year in Happy Valley (though I believe the Beavs would take the rematch, now with the emergence of Quizz Rogers).

Trojans vs. DA BEARS!

Well Trojans, it's crunch time! Time to separate the Men (of Troy) from the Ladies (you tree-hugging communist hippies!). The Bears head down to the Coliseum where the Trojans, pissed about being dropped two places in the BCS after demolishing hapless Washington, seek to gain a measure of respect by crushing #21 California affectionately known by ESPN talking head Reece Davis as the "Fighting Tedfords."

"I think it stinks," Head Coach Pete Carroll said about the BCS.

Statistically, USC is the #1 defense in total yards, scoring defense, passing efficiency and rushing defense. Of course, three of those games (all shutouts) were against teams that are 3-22 on the year (ASU, WSU, UW). Still, the Trojans have only allowed 7 TDs in 8 games, 4 of those were to Oregon State, and two of those "drives" were 5 yards and 15 yards.

Another memorable stat, since arriving at USC, Pete Carroll has never lost a game in November. Ever. (The UCLA loss was in December)

Bob B. mentioned he was going to be at the NEW J.P. Looneys in Oak Ridge if anyone cares to join him, the game is on 8:00 PM.
