Possible USC/UVA Tickets Available

Hey Trojans:

There was a post on the uscfootball.com site from a Trojan who may have 10 USC/UVA ticket packages available at face value for "Trojans only." I cannot vouch for anything more than the information he posted. If you are interested (and you may have to act lightning quick to get them), contact: socalhugo@yahoo.com

[Update] - All 10 tickets have been sold. =(

Good luck!

Of course, if that doesn't work out, you can always click the StubHub link above and try to secure some ducats that way too...(yes, the Triad Trojan Club does get compensated if you buy tickets using our link, so why not contribute to the cause?)

Pillaging Westwood's Recruits

In other news, the 2009 football recruiting class is shaping up nicely. The Trojans recently converted a UCLA commit over from the darkside to commit to Troy. Truth be told, Byron Moore was a lifelong Trojan fan and gave the bRUINS his commitment early, but after an impressive showing at USC's Rising Stars camp, Byron got his dream offer from Pete Carroll and will be joining the Cardinal and Gold next season. Fight on Byron!

Too Damn Funny!!

From "EveryDayShouldBeSaturday.com"

I CAN HOLD IT…A QUICK PARABLE

Red Lisp 3: I’m going in! Cover me Porkins.

Red Porkins 2: I’m with you, Red Lisp 3

(The two dive and level out just below the surface of the object. It is glossy, covered with bags of silcone, shiny brass armor plating, stunning nude women covered by glass bubbles, and laser cannons.)

Red Lisp 3: Jezuth, look at that! It’s the size of a Pollack washerwoman’s behind, I tell you!

Red Porkins 2: Right with you…um…got a problem here.

Red Lisp 3: Eject!

Red Porkins 2: I can hold it…I’ve got Clausen…and recruits…

Red Lisp 3: Come to television! It’s eathy!

Red Porkins 2: No…I just need more….time.

Imperial Cannoneer Carroll: I’m so jacked to be shooting down this fighter.

[Fires Rey Maualuga from cannon.]

Red Lisp 3: What’s the thtate theal of Baltimore doing on my helmet?

Red Porkins 2: AAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Cannoneer Carroll: WIN FOREVER!!!!!

Red Lisp 3: Aw, come on! You named him Porkinth! He didn’t thtand a chance to begin with!

UVA Season "Kickoff Package" is Sold Out.

Hey Trojans:

The UVA season "Kickoff Package" that included USC, East Carolina and Richmond is sold out. At this point, there are only a few options left.
  1. Wait and try to get the "Single Game" ticket on the UVA site (Bwahahahaha!)
  2. Try StubHub, which is linked via the banner ad above and they probably have some tickets for sale (though for a weeee bit more than face value)
As for coordinating the trip up, the game is at 3:30 PM, and the trip takes about 3.5 hours to make, probably 4 by bus, so if there was a thought to charter one, you'd probably have to leave the Triad about 7-8 AM to give yourself plenty of time to make it to campus, then tailgate for a few hours before going to the game.

As for myself, I plan on leaving early Friday (subject to change) to get to our hotel in Waynesboro. If anyone wants to team up for a caravan up that day, let me know. I'll get some Cardinal and Gold water based paint to decorate my car for the trek into "enemy territory."

For your enjoyment, I created a "USC/UVA Countdown Widget" for your browser, or desktop. Feel free to download it and share it with your USC/UVA friends.

USC/Virginia Lodging Option

Hey Trojans, I have a lodging update for you.

I was able to get a room at the Waynesboro Hampton Inn for a AAA rate of $102.60/night for a non-smoking King room. I have stayed at Hampton Inns before, and they are clean, comfortable and I LOVE the chocolate chip cookies they have available at night.

Waynesboro in just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the heart of the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, which I hear is gorgeous, and it is only about 25-30 minutes from Charlottesville. There is also an outlet mall nearby (for the wives) and some good restaurants. Anyway, I thought I'd pass along that info since it seems everything good in C'ville is already booked.

Fight On!

USC/Virginia Tickets Still Available

According to Alexis P., there are still UVA "Season Kickoff Packages" available. Apparently, UVA released limited amounts of the packages so they wouldn't be sold out in a few hours. While I can't guarantee tickets will still be available when you call, at least there may still be some hope.

We are still going to try and coordinate with other Carolina Trojans to either caravan, or tailgate together at the game. Maybe we'll even get together and have a "car painting party" (there is a carpool lot near my house off Hwy 29 which goes right to Charlottesville) with some water based paints to proudly display the Cardinal and Gold on our way up to the game?

I am trying to find some accommodations to stay a night or two up in Virginia as I have a feeling the game will be an 8:00 PM kickoff for prime time, so I don't feel like driving 3.5 hours home at midnight. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't forget to email me at GSOTrojan@aol.com if you get tickets so I can have you on the mailing list for the caravan/tailgate

AWESOME New Campus Center

For those of you who do not know, USC is in the midst of an incredible building project, tearing down the old Commons area and building a breathtaking structure known at the Ronald Tutor Campus Center. Here are some renderings of the project:

The view from my USC/Virginia seats

Section 519, Row K...not bad at all! By the way, the bottom right corner of the end zone points to where the Spirit of Troy and more importantly, the Song Girls will be.

(Click on the image to enlarge)
Again, if you got tickets to the game, write me at GSOTrojan@aol.com, and we'll see if we can caravan up from the Triad (my house is in Reedy Fork Ranch, just off HWY 29 which goes straight up to Charlottesville, about 3.5 hours away).

Here's who I have going so far:

Andrew M. (NC) - 2.5
Bob B. (NC) - 5
Alexis P. (NC) - 2
Bob B. (SC) - 2

FYI - The hotels in Charlottesville all seem to be booked right now, so I am looking for alternate lodging, maybe up by the Blue Ridge Pkwy, which is relatively close by. If anyone knows of any place nice near Charlottesvile, let me know. Thanks!

BREAKING NEWS!!!! USC/UVA Tix

Hey Trojans, GREAT news regarding UVA tickets! The University of Virginia is offering a "Kickoff Mini-Package" for $101 which includes USC, Richmond and East Carolina games (which I will donate my Richmond and East Carolina games to the USO in Virginia to give to some deserving servicemen/women). This offer begins TODAY, Thursday May 22 at 5:00 PM EDT. Here is the LINK.

Fight On!

[UPDATE]

I purchased two tickets in the upper part of Section 519, which is the South Endzone, right near the Spirit of Troy's seats.

Get your tickets!! Those who buy them, email me at GSOTrojan@aol.com and maybe we can all set up a caravan of cars to drive to Charlottesville.

USC/UVA Ticket Update

Hey Trojans:

I just received an email from the Carolinas Alumni Group stating they were trying to get a block of tickets for the game. Nothing guaranteed mind you, but they are trying. I am sure priority will go to USC alumni first (we appreciate all of the "fans" who have asked for ticket), so unless you are on the USC.edu alumni database, you may be out of luck through this channel.

Anyhow, I'll keep you posted as best as I can from this end.

USC HOOPS

The Trojans face Arizona State at 3:00 PM today, and the game will be broadcast on DirectTv channel 97 (HD).

Fight On and stick a fork in the 'Devils!
